Daniel
God deserves the praise, for He is the one who makes all things great. God created the world. God created you and me. What good resides within us is there because God breathed it into us. He is an amazing God, worthy of glory. Nebuchadnezzar calls Daniel into his chambers.
Daniel
God deserves the honor and glory and praise because His works are magnificent and everlasting. There are days I sit in awe at God and His being. From the moment He spoke the universe into being, He knew how it would end. He knew creation would fall, but He knew
Daniel
God’s people are inherently followers. That doesn’t mean we aren’t leaders. We lead after God opens a door. Each of our opportunities to lead, though, start with taking the humble position of looking to follow God. After Daniel makes an appointment with Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel goes back to
Daniel
When we see a door God opens, we should not fear stepping into it. God provides opportunities, we act upon them. He leads; we follow. So long as we don’t get that backwards – which I’ve periodically done in my life – we’ll be just fine. Daniel handles himself
Daniel
God is quite capable of making His own opportunities. If God created the world, can He not act upon it? If God knows our hearts better than we even know our own heart, is He not capable of speaking meaning into us? If God knows all things, is He not
Daniel
If I claim God lives within me, how do the people around me experience God revealed through me? If we are crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me, how do the people around me know? Where am I opening myself

Nothing in this world is worth losing God over. Nothing can bring joy like God can. Nothing can bring love like God can. Nothing can bring life like God can. Without God, everything that matters suddenly diminishes. When the children of the Hebrew nobles were gathered in Nebuchadnezzar’s palace,
Daniel
God is sovereign over the whole world, not just His people. God works through people all over this world, not just His followers. His wisdom is so great He can use anyone to accomplish His will. Once Nebuchadnezzar defeated the Hebrew people and made them vassals to his kingdom, he
Daniel
God is willing to use something like exile to remind us of who He is and how He wants us to live. God is not Santa Claus. He is something so much more. Rather than being the fulfiller-of-wishes, God is the hope-of-creation. He brings life out
Daniel
Today begins the study of Daniel. As a quick overview, Daniel was a young man who lived during the Babylonian captivity of the Hebrew people. He lived much of his life under the Babylonian kings, but he lived long enough to see Cyrus conquer Babylon. Along with the Babylonians, Cyrus
